MediSeek Recaster transforms the CMS.GOV healthcare provider NPI data to a Microsoft SQL Server relational database that you manage.
What is NPI data?
It's a part of the HIPAA legislation and deals with licensed healthcare providers. We have a brief on the topic here.

A discussion about the NPI data file containing healthcare provider information is here.

You'll want to know about Taxonomy Codes, we have a quick talk about that here.
MediSeek Recaster manages the entire workflow from a raw CSV file to a populated and indexed database ...
-
Select a month and year you want, typically the current month.
-
Recaster downloads and extracts the CSV file from CMS.GOV. It knows the URL, no input from you is needed.
-
It automatically creates and names a new database and installs the database schema.
-
Recaster extracts from the CSV data file and inserts roughly 76 million records into the database - million with an 'M'. When discussing fields within the records, we are talking approximately 2.4 billion fields are inserted. Billion with a 'B'.
-
When finished, Recaster builds indexes and renames the database for production use.

The database created by Recaster contains current and complete data, using all fields in all the NPI data files provided by CMS.GOV.

Our database schema meets Fourth Normal Form.

You do not need database administration skills.
